Person shot dead in West Rogers Park

A person was shot and killed Sunday in West Rogers Park on the North Side.

The male, whose age isn’t known, was walking about 7:20 p.m. in the 6200 block of North Troy Street when someone approached and shot him in the abdomen, Chicago police said.

He was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office hasn’t released details about his death.

Area Three detectives are investigating.
