Person shot by Joliet police

A person was shot by a Joliet police officer Thursday morning in the southwest suburb.

The shooting unfolded about 10:30 a.m. in the 1200 Block of Nicholson Street, Joliet police said in an emailed statement.

Police did not release the condition of the gunshot victim or the circumstances of the shooting.

The investigation was turned over to the Will-Grundy Major Crimes Task Force.
