A person was rushed to hospital after being burnt as a fire ripped through their home.
Emergency services were called to Romley Street, in Walton, shortly before 2pm on Monday afternoon to reports of the blaze.
At the scene, firefighters found a house engulfed in fire that had spread through the whole home.
A person who had been inside when the fire broke out, had already been taken to hospital suffering from burns and smoke inhalation.
Significant smoke damage was caused to the house and the kitchen of the home is believed to have been destroyed.
In a statement, a spokesperson for Merseyside Fire and Rescue said: "MFRS were called to an incident in Romley Street, Walton, on Monday, 8 th February.
"Crews were alerted at 1.55pm and on scene at 2.02pm.
"Four engines and an aerial appliance attended.
"On arrival, crews found a two-storey mid-terraced property to be well alight."
Pictures taken at the scene showed firefighters tackling the blaze from the street and from above the property.
The fire service added: "Firefighters used high pressure hose reel jets to tackle the fire, then checked neighbouring properties before hot spotting and damping down.
"One person was out of the property prior to MFRS’ arrival; the person was taken to hospital by NWAS suffering burns and smoke inhalation but the injuries are not thought to be serious.
"There were no other injuries.
"The ground floor kitchen was severely damaged by fire and the rest of the house sustained severe smoke damage.
"MFRS left the scene at 4.40pm."
