Person rushed to hospital after hazardous response team called to Kirkby street

A person was rushed to hospital after ambulance crews and a hazardous response team were called to Kirkby.

Crews from the North West Ambulance Service , as well as an air ambulance, were called to the scene on Stanton Crescent on Friday morning.

Although it is not yet clear what sparked the massive response from the emergency services , residents on the street were left startled by their presence on the residential street at around 9am.

A picture submitted by a reader of the Liverpool ECHO shows four ambulances parked on the road, as well as a Hazard Area Response Team van.

A spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service told the ECHO : "We were called at 8.56am to a private address on Stanton Crescent.

"Two ambulances and an air ambulance with hazardous response team and took one patient to hospital."

The condition of the patient is currently unknown and Merseyside Police confirmed that they were not called to the incident.
