Person rushed to hospital after falling from Albert Dock

Emergency services rushed to Albert Dock this afternoon (Sunday August 22) after a person fell 10 feet from the dockside at Albert Dock.

It has been confirmed the casualty fell from the dockside and landed on a decking area 10 feet below.

Two fire engines and a search and rescue team arrived arrived at the scene at 1.16pm where they found the casualty had fallen 'approximately 10 feet' below. Luckily the person didn't enter the water.

When the emergency services found the casualty they were breathing and conscious, with fire crews helping paramedics stretcher the person from the decking area to the shoreside.

Albert Dock has now been cleared after police, ambulances and fire engines all attended the scene at around 1pm today.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service told the ECHO : "MFRS were alerted at 1.09pm and on scene at 1.16pm, with two fire engines and the search and rescue team in attendance at the Albert Dock.

"The casualty had fallen from the dockside onto a decking area approximately 10 feet below, the casualty did not enter the water. The casualty was conscious and breathing.

"Fire crews assisted North West Ambulance Service to transfer the casualty from the deck area to shoreside by stretcher, the casualty was then transported to an ambulance.

"Crews were on scene until 1.45pm."
