Person rushed to hospital after crash involving cyclist in Watnall

One person was rushed to hospital following a collision involving a bicycle this afternoon (November 23).

Emergency services were called to the scene in Watnall shortly after 2.30pm.

The incident occurred on Main Road, and caused the area to be cordoned off.

Nottinghamshire Police said they received a report of a cyclist who had come off his bike in Main Road in Watnall.

A spokesperson said that a man was taken to hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening or life altering.

East Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed a person was taken to Queen's Medical Centre for treatment.

A spokesperson said: “We received a call at 2.31pm on November 23 to Main Road in Watnall, Nottingham. The caller reported that there had been a road traffic collision involving a bicycle.

"We sent a double crewed ambulance and one patient was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre.

A witness, who did not wish to be named, said she saw an accident at the end of Long Lane at the junction with Main Road this afternoon.

She said the road was cordoned off and she had to turn back in order to get home.
