Person rescued from sea after going overboard from CalMac ferry

A person has been rescued from the sea after falling overboard from a ferry.

The incident took place on Saturday afternoon on CalMac’s MV Alfred ferry, which had been travelling from Troon to Brodick on the Isle of Arran.

The ferry left Troon at around 1.35pm, and during the course of the journey, a passenger went overboard.

An urgent search was launched, and the person was quickly recovered from the sea by MV Alfred’s crew.
