
A person was rescued by firefighters after a fire broke out in flat in Harrow Road in Maida Vale.
Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to the fire in the busy main road in the borough of Westminster shortly after 11am this morning.
Firefighters tackled a fire on the third floor of a terraced building with a shop on the ground floor.
One person was rescued by firefighters wearing breathing apparatus, and treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service crews.
The Brigade was called at 11.10am, and crews from North Kensington, Paddington, West Hampstead and other surrounding fire stations attended the scene.
Firefighters had the incident under control by 11.37am.
The cause of the fire is not known at this stage, the London Fire Brigade said.
BBC travel reported Harrow Road - also known as the A404- in Maida Vale was blocked between Great Western Road and Fermoy Road as firefighters battled the fire.
