Person raced to Dublin hospital following daring Liffey rescue

A person has been hospitalised after being pulled out of the River Liffey.

Dublin Fire Brigade's brave water rescue crew rushed to the scene earlier this afternoon following reports of a person in the water.

Units from Tara Street and Phibsborough fire stations undertook the rescue operation near Custom House Quay.

A spokesperson for Dublin Fire Brigade tweeted: "We currently have units from Tara St and Phibsborough fire stations responding to a reports of a water rescue near Custom House Quay. Our rescue boat has been deployed to the scene."

They later said: "One person has been taken from the River Liffey and removed to hospital."
