
The body of an 80-year-old man was pulled from Montrose Harbor in Lake Michigan Friday morning.
He was spotted by a helicopter near the boat house at 8:25 a.m. and was recovered by the police Marine Unit, according to Chicago police.
Paramedics transported the man to Weiss Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said. His name hasn’t been released.
His cause and manner of death were under investigation.
At least six people have drowned in Lake Michigan so far this year, according to the Great Lakes Surf Rescue Project. Fifty-six people drowned in Lake Michigan in 2020.
