British Transport Police has confirmed that a person has died on the rail tracks in County Durham.
Officers were called to the line in Oak Tree, County Durham, at 10.51am on Friday, November 19 following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Paramedics attended however the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers are currently working to identify the deceased and inform their next of kin. British Transport Police have confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious.
There were significant disruptions while the emergency services attended the scene.
Rail services running through stations between Darlington and Thornaby were cancelled or suspended on Friday morning.
The rail line reopened at around 12.30pm however National Rail warned commuters that disruptions were expected to last until 3pm.
A Statement from British Transport Police said: “British Transport Police were called to the line in Oak Tree, County Durham, at 10.51am today (19 November) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Officers are working to identify the deceased and inform their next of kin.
"This incident is not being treated as suspicious.”
