A man was critically injured after being trapped under a Green Line train Thursday on the West Side, police said.

The 33-year-old man was walking on the platform at 8:48 p.m. at the Cicero station, 4750 W. Lake St., when he fell on the tracks and was hit by an approaching train and pinned underneath, according to Chicago police.

He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, according to police and Chicago Fire Department officials.

Green Line service was suspended between Harlem and Ashland/Lake because of a “medical emergency on the tracks,” but trains were moving again with residual delays shortly after 10 p.m., according to service alerts from the CTA.
