'Person knocked down' on Dalry Road in Edinburgh, with paramedics at the scene

There are lengthy traffic delays in the west of Edinburgh following an accident on Dalry Road where someone is believed to have been knocked down.

Emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 6pm on Monday.

The accident took place at the junction with Murieston Crescent and blocked the eastbound lane going into town.

Several Lothian Buses routes were diverted before the road was re-opened around half an hour later.

One person tweeted: "Someone’s been hit and there’s an ambulance in attendance. Please wear bright clothes in the dark."
