Person killed on Tube tracks at Sloane Square causing severe delays on Underground

A person has died on the train tracks at Sloane Square London Underground station.

The Circle Line was suspended on Friday afternoon following the tragedy.

The District Line was also part-suspended and there were severe delays on the rest of the line.

Police and paramedics were called to Sloane Square Tube station at 12.25pm, following a report of a casualty on the tracks.

"Sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene," said British Transport Police (BTP) in a statement.

"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."

There was no District Line service between Earl's Court and Embankment on Friday afternoon, while the incident was dealt with.

TfL's website warned of "severe delays" on the rest of the line.

Circle Line services were suspended.
