Person killed in Uptown shooting: police

A person was shot to death Thursday in Uptown on the North Side.

The male was riding a bike on the sidewalk at 11:33 p.m. in the 1000 block of West Winona Street when someone started shooting at him, according to Chicago police.

He was hit multiple times and taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not released details about the death.

No one is in custody, but a weapon was recovered at the scene, police said.

Area Three detectives are investigating.
