They arrived to find a 69-year-old man from Lake Station, Indiana, lying on the ground near a vehicle with “no signs of life,” police said.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Lake County coroner’s office. An autopsy found he died of gunshot wounds and his death was ruled a homicide. His identity has not been released.
