Person injured after incident in Brandon area of County Durham

A person was reportedly injured following an incident in County Durham.

The incident took place in Brandon at around 5.15pm on Sunday.

It is being said that a number of police cars arrived in the area, including armed response vehicles, however this has not yet been confirmed.

The North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) said a patient was treated at the scene but they refused hospital treatment.

A spokesperson for NEAS added: "We were called to reports of a patient injured at a private address in Brandon at 5.12pm.

"We sent one ambulance and two Hazardous Area Response Teams (HART). Police were also in attendance.

"A patient was treated at the scene but declined transport to hospital."

No further details about the nature of the incident are available at this stage.

Durham Constabulary has been contacted by ChronicleLive for comment.
