Driver in hospital after car veers off Armley Gyratory

A driver has been taken to hospital after a car veered off the Armley Gyratory.

The white Vauxhall Astra collided with another car and then came off the road, before smashing through a metal poll and ploughing into a bush.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene at around 1.45pm and the driver of the Vauxhall was taken to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said they have been "taken to hospital for a routine check up" and no other injuries were reported.

One lane on the busy roundabout was closed while the vehicle was removed from the bush and this caused minor delays.
