Person in custody after River North stabbing

A man was stabbed Monday in River North on the Near North Side.

The 37-year-old was involved in an earlier fight with a male who came back about 2:33 a.m. and stabbed him in the back in the 500 block of North State Street, Chicago police said.

The man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where his condition was stabilized, police said.

The alleged attacker was taken into custody, police said.

Area Central detectives are investigating.
