Person hospitalised after horror one-car crash on A77 in Ayrshire

A person was rushed to hospital after a horror A77 crash in Ayrshire.

Emergency services raced to the smash near Bogend Toll between Ayr and Kilmarnock after the alarm was raised at around 5.35pm yesterday.

One casualty was taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock after the the single vehicle crash.

Their condition is currently unknown.

The road was shut in both directions but reopened to traffic shortly after 6pm.

A Police Scotland spokeperson said: "We were made aware of a crash involving a single car on the A77 near Bogend Toll between Ayr and Kilmarnock around 5.35pm on Monday, 15 February.

"The road was initially closed in both directions but reopened to traffic shortly after 6pm.

"One person was taken to Crosshouse Hospital in Kilmarnock following the incident."
