Person hospitalised after crash between car and pedestrian on A76 as road closed

A person has been hospitalised after being involved in a crash on the A76 as emergency services raced to the scene.

Police are currently in attendance on the Dumfries and Galloway road between Thornhill and Dumfries after being called to the crash around 2.55pm on Saturday April 17.

One of those involved in the crash was taken to hospital, however their condition is not known at this time.

Officers have closed the road in the wake of the incident, and it remains shut to motorists.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “Officers are currently in attendance on the A76 between Thornhill and Dumfries following a crash involving a car and pedestrian.

“One person has been taken to hospital and the road remains closed.

“Police were called at around 2.55pm on Saturday.”
