The train hit the person about 1:30 a.m. near Depot Street on the Milwaukee District North tracks at the Glenview Metra station, according to a Metra spokesman.

Police responded and found a male dead at the scene, Glenview police Sgt. Jim Foley said in an email.

The train that struck the person was owned by the Wisconsin & Southern Railroad Co., according to Watco Companies spokesman Ken Lucht.
