Person hit by train on busy rail route between Glasgow and Paisley

A person was hit by a train tonight leaving a busy route closed.

ScotRail confirmed the incident on the line between Glasgow Central and Paisley at around 9pm.

The person is understood to have been struck around the area of Cardonald station.

A ScotRail tweet said: “Sadly, due to a person being struck by a train between Glasgow Central & Paisley Gilmour Street, we’re currently unable to run any services between these stations.”

The line fully reopened just before 11pm.
