Person hit by train near Dundee as emergency crews race to scene

Emergency services are responding to reports that a person has been struck by a train in Angus.

The victim was hit between Dundee and Arbroath, ScotRail has confirmed in a Twitter post uploaded around 2.30pm this afternoon.

The condition of the person is currently unknown.

A Scotrail spokesperson said: “Sadly, we have received reports of a person being struck by a train between Arbroath and Dundee.

“We're working closely with emergency services during this time”.

The spokesman confirmed that all rail tickets to be accepted on local Stagecoach services while the incident is being investigated.
