Person hit by train in East Kilbride as services disrupted

Train services between Glasgow Central and East Kilbride will be disrupted this morning after a person was struck by a train.

Scotrail notified the public around 9am, and the incident occurred between East Kilbride and Thornliebank.

Some train services will be delayed, revised or cancelled between Glasgow Central and East Kilbride.

Emergency services are working with ScotRail to manage the scene.

A spokesperson for ScotRail wrote: "Sadly, we have received reports of a person being struck by a train between East Kilbride and Thornliebank.

"We're working closely with emergency services during this time. Train services between Glasgow Central and East Kilbride will be cancelled or revised."

Police have been contacted for comment.
