A person has been struck by a train between Westerton and Dalmuir, leading to the cancellation of trains and the closure of all lines serving the two stations.
ScotRail confirmed the incident around midnight last night, stating: "Due to a person being struck by a train between Westerton and Dalmuir all lines are closed.
"Please speak to us directly using a station help point for any assistance getting home tonight. We've had to cancel last services as a result of this."
We have no further update on the person’s condition, and our thoughts are with them and their family this morning.
All lines have since reopened.
British Transport Police have been contacted for comment.
