East Midlands Railway (EMR) has confirmed a person was hit by a train in Nottinghamshire. The incident took place between Nottingham and Mansfield.
As a result the line between Nottingham and Mansfield has been closed. This is disrupting EMR services on the Nottingham-Mansfield-Worksop route.
Emergency services and Network Rail are sending teams to site, with EMR expecting them to arrive on site at around 7pm. In statement on their website, EMR said: "Sadly, we have received reports of a person being hit by a train, between Nottingham and Mansfield. This is disrupting our services on the Nottingham-Mansfield-Worksop route.

"Emergency services and Network Rail are sending teams to site, they are expected on scene at 7pm. Trains through the area in either direction cannot run between Nottingham and Mansfield."
Trains through the area in either direction cannot run between Nottingham and Mansfield. Some services may be diverted between Nottingham and Kirkby in Ashfield, and be unable to call at Newstead, Hucknall or Bulwell.
EMR currently expect the line to reopen within the next two hours. EMR expect their advertised timetable to resume on the affected routes by 9pm.
