A person has sadly been hit by a train between Motherwell and Lanark.
Scotrail confirmed the incident shortly before 4pm this afternoon.
Emergency services are currently at the scene and the line is currently closed.
The condition of the person is at this stage unknown.
Scotrail say: "Sadly, we have received reports of a person being struck by a train between Motherwell and Lanark.
"We've had to close the line while the emergency services attend."
Glasgow Live have contacted British Transport Police for comment.
