Person hit by train between Dalmuir and Dumbarton Central

A person has been struck by a train near Dalmuir, affecting all services on the line.

ScotRail confirmed the incident shortly after 9pm, stating: “Unfortunately, we have had reports of a person being struck by a train between Dalmuir and Dumbarton Central. We are working closely with emergency services during this time and will keep you updated.”

We have no further update on the person’s condition, and our thoughts are with them and their family tonight.

The line has been closed while emergency services attend, and services through Glasgow Queen Street lower level are affected as a result.

Scotrail estimate that travel disruption will continue until 11pm - as ever, the advice if you’re using the train tonight is to use ScotRail JourneyCheck for the most up-to-date information.

Tonight's incident may also affect those travelling from Edinburgh on the lower level line, with Queen Street upper level services between the two cities still disrupted.

More information to follow when we have it.
