Person hit by bus on Queen Street in Glasgow sparking emergency response

Emergency services have raced to Queen Street after reports of a person being struck by a bus.

Cops have raced to busy Queen Street near Argyle Street in Glasgow city centre after a pedestrian was hit by the single decker vehicle on Tuesday morning.

Fire and rescue crews had to wedge the bus wheels to free the person trapped underneath the bus.

Ambulance crews are currently at the scene.

The person's condition is unknown.

Officers have closed down the road to traffic are enquiries are continuing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "At 12:10pm on Tuesday morning we were called to reports of a pedestrian being struck by a bus on Queen Street near Argyle Street.

Emergency services are currently at the scene and have closed off the road."
