File photo

A person died after being struck by a car Saturday in West Lawn on the Southwest Side.

A 20-year-old woman was driving a Ford about 5:08 p.m. in the 6100 block of South Pulaski Road when she made a right turn and struck a female pedestrian, Chicago police said.

The female was taken to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead, officials said.

According to an autopsy, the woman was on a bicycle when she was hit by the car, the medical examiner’s office said, but police couldn’t confirm that detail.

Her death was ruled an accident, the medical examiner’s office said.

CPD’s Major Accidents Unit is investigating.
