A person was fatally struck by a semitrailer Monday in Logan Square on the Northwest Side.
A male was walking between vehicles about 7:33 p.m. in the 3400 block of West North Avenue when he was struck by the back wheels of a semi that was passing trough an intersection, Chicago police said.
The male was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The driver of the truck, a 39-year-old man, was cited for failure to yield and taken to St. Mary’s Hospital for observation.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office hasn’t released details on the death.
CPD’s Major Accidents Unit is investigating.
