Person fatally shot outside store in Austin: police

A person was killed in a shooting Thursday in Austin on the West Side, police said.
A male was standing outside of a convenience store about 3:39 p.m. in the 400 block of South Laramie Avenue when someone approached him and opened fire, Chicago police said.
He was struck in the head, chest and was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was pronounced dead, police said.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office hasn’t released details on the death.
