A person was fatally shot Sunday in Back of the Yards on the South Side.
About 8:40 a.m. a male was crossing the street in the 1200 block of West Garfield Boulevard, when two males approached him and fired multiple shots, striking him twice in the chest, Chicago police said.
Responding officers found him laying unresponsive in the street, police said. He was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not released details about his death.
The shooting was possibly recorded on a bus’ dash camera, police said.
Area South detectives are investigating.
