Person evacuated as crews called to fire which ripped through garage

One person had to be evacuated as a fire ripped through a garage in a Nottinghamshire street.

Firefighters from Carlton and Carlton and Arnold stations were called to Rutland Road in Gedling just before 7.15pm on Tuesday, December 28.

The crews used two water tender ladders, a thermal imaging camera, high pressure hose reel and tools to get into the building and bring the blaze under control.

One person was evacuated immediately from the building.

No people were harmed as a result of the incident, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue confirmed in a statement

The fire is believed to have been accidental, caused by faulty wiring in the garage.
