A person found on railway tracks in Belle Vue has sadly died, police have confirmed.
Officers were called to Belle Vue railway station just after 2.25pm today (Sunday) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
Paramedics attended but the person was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Police are now working to establish their identity and inform their next of kin.
A spokesperson for the British Transport Police said the incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
Pictures taken at the scene show a number of emergency service vehicles in attendance after the incident.

Train services between Manchester Piccadilly and Bredbury have been disrupted.
Replacement buses are currently in operation.
In a statement, a BTP spokesperson said: "British Transport Police were called to Belle Vue railway station at 2.26pm today (7 February) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
"Officers are working to identify the deceased and inform their next of kin.
"This incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
