Police Scotland has confirmed that a person has died at a railway station.
The tragedy happened early this morning at Kilwinning train station, in North Ayrshire.
Officers were called to the facility just after 7am following reports of an “unresponsive person.”
Paramedics were called to the scene but tragically, despite their best efforts, the person was declared dead soon after.
A police spokesman confirmed the incident was not being treated as suspicious.
They added: “Officers are now working to identify the person and inform their family.”
