Person dies as police cordon off road outside Nottingham Railway Station

A person has died after the emergency services were called to an incident outside Nottingham Railway Station.

A spokesman for British Transport Police said officers were called at 1pm on Wednesday (December 9) to reports of an injured person outside the station.

The spokesman added: “Paramedics also attended, however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Officers are working to identify the deceased and inform their next of kin.

“This incident is not being treated as suspicious.”

An air ambulance was called out and seen hovering the area.

An East Midlands Ambulance spokesman said: “We received a call at 12.44pm on 9 December to Queen’s Road in Nottingham.

“The caller reported a medical emergency. We sent two paramedics in fast response cars and a double-crewed ambulance. The air ambulance was also in attendance.”

A number of police vans were seen in Queen's Road.

Eye witness Gregory Mills, 23, who works at nearby Macildowie, said: "There are two police cars there and three paramedics and the road is cordoned off.

"There was an air ambulance circling around, it's landed now in the car park nearby. There were police there just after 1pm."
