Person dies after being hit by a train at Bramley Railway Station

A person has died after being hit by a train in Leeds.

Emergency services were called to Bramley Railway Station in the city at 5.20pm on Sunday, February 21.

West Yorkshire Police, British Transport Police and the Yorkshire Ambulance Service were all called after reports of a casualty on the tracks.

The air ambulance was also called.

Tragically the person was pronounced dead at the scene.

All train services between Bradford Interchange and Leeds were cancelled or delayed at the time.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to Bramley station at 5.20pm on February 21 following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

"Paramedics also attended however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
