Cal State Fresno student from South L.A. identified as suspect in campus shooting threat

Nov. 03--A Cal State Fresno football player has been identified as the student arrested in connection with a social media threat that detailed a plan to use a weapon to shoot students on campus.

Christian Pryor, 18, of Los Angeles, was taken into custody Monday in the athletic department offices on suspicion of making the threats that day, according to university police Chief David Huerta.

Pryor was a walk-on freshman for the university's football team and graduated from Locke High School in South Los Angeles, the Fresno Bee reported.

Police were able to track down his phone number on the anonymous social media site Yik Yak, Huerta said.

Information on the student has not been released but university police said he admitted to sending the threat.

"I am bothered by it significantly," Huerta said. "It's really something that I hope we never experience."

The student could face state and federal charges, he said.

The threat posted on Yik Yak said: "The time is here. @3 p.m. I will release my frustrations. Tired of dirty looks, get rejected, nd being talked abt bc how I dress. My choice of weapon M4 Carbine and I will take a headshot at a hot blonde."

Students starting tweeting about the threat and expressed concerns that their campus was a possible target.

"I don't know if this is real, but if you are on Fresno State campus, please be aware," Darrell Wright tweeted.
