Chicago police are warning residents of two armed robberies reported in July in Back of the Yards and McKinley Park on the South Side.
In each incident, two males stood at the entrance of a cellphone store, flashed a gun at the clerk and a male speaking Spanish then called the store and instructed the clerk to take cash from the register and wire the money to an account in Mexico, according to a community alert from Chicago police.
The robberies happened about 1 p.m July 13 in the 4300 block of South Ashland Avenue and about 5:30 p.m July 14 in the 3400 block of South Archer Avenue, police said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Area One detectives at 312-747-8380.
