A person has been cut free from a horror crash involving two cars in Perthshire.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the smash on the A9 near the House of Bruar around 5.40pm on Sunday January 26.

Scottish Fire and Rescue crews were called to free one person who was trapped inside a vehicle.

Police Scotland confirmed all causalities are now out of the cars involved.

The extent of their injuries is currently unknown but not thought to be life-threatening.

Both carriageways were closed in the aftermath of the crash, however traffic is now flowing both north and southbound.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received reports at around 5.40pm of the incident on the A9 northbound, just north of the House of Bruar.

"Two vehicles were involved and one was off road. One person was trapped, however all causalities are now out of the vehicles.

"Both carriageways were blocked and closed north and southbound while teams worked to clear the road.

"We have managed to reopen both carriageways to smaller vehicles but are stacking HGVs.

"Police, Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and ambulance are all in attendance.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesperson confirmed they are still at the scene.
