Person cut from car which was sandwiched between street lamp in Nottinghamshire crash

The emergency services rescued a person who had become trapped in their car during a crash.

Two vehicles were involved in the incident in Sutton Bonington on Monday morning (March 22).

One of the vehicles, a Peugeot, was sandwiched between a hedge and a street lamp and a person inside was trapped.

Pictures from the scene show the car on its side.

Crews from East Leake Fire Station were forced to cut the person free and they were then taken to hospital by East Midlands Ambulance Service.

Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service issued a warning following the incident, saying: "This morning we attended a road traffic collision in Sutton Bonington.

"Two vehicles were involved with one vehicle ending up on its side with a person trapped inside.

"Please make sure you do not get distracted whilst driving."
