Person believed to be from Northern Ireland hit by train in London

A person from Northern Ireland is believed to have been hit by a train in London on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred in the early hours of January 2 between Alexandra Palace and Finsbury Park stations.

A statement on Great Northern's Twitter account read: "It is with great sadness that we report a person has been hit by a train between Alexandra Palace and Finsbury Park.

"All lines are blocked between these stations whilst the emergency services work to deal with this incident."

According to MyLondon, the welfare of the individual has not been disclosed.

The lines between the two stations reopened before 3am on Sunday morning. There is no further information at this time.
