A man barricaded himself inside a West Rogers Park home on the North Side after police tried to arrest him Tuesday.
The situation started about 5:30 a.m. when officers attempted to serve an arrest warrant near Lunt and Western avenues, according to Chicago police.
The man, who is wanted for aggravated domestic assault, barricaded himself inside the home, police said. His mother was able to get out on her own and was not injured.
The man is alone in the home and there have been no reports of him having a weapon, police said. The standoff is ongoing.
The Chicago Transit Authority has been rerouting No. 96 Lunt buses in the area since shortly after 7 a.m. because of the police activity, the transit agency said. Buses are being detoured via Ridge and Touhy.
