A person has been arrested in connection with the murder of Rose Hanrahan in Limerick in 2017.
Rose, a 78-year-old widow, was found dead in a front room of her home in New Road, Thomondgate, Limerick on December 15 two years ago.
It's believed the pensioner was killed following a break-in at her home, in which she resided for the past 40 years.
She had been a carer for her late husband Michael, who died nearly seven years ago after suffering a long-term illness.

A person has been detained in the UK in connection with the investigation into Rose's death, on foot of a European arrest warrant.
A Garda spokesperson said today: "Gardai are aware that an individual has been arrested on a European Arrest Warrant.
"No further information at this time."
