Person arrested after police find knife during vehicle search in Aston

A person has been arrested after West Midlands Police officers found a knife during a vehicle search. The Youth Violence and Knife Crime Team conducted the search and subsequently arrested one person.

The force tweeted an image of the knife that had been recovered on November 24 just after 10pm. The image showed the weapon's length at over 6-inches long.

The tweet read: "Another busy 'Proactive Shift' for Task Force Officers today. This knife was recovered in @AstonWMP following an Intelligence led Vehicle Stop, that resulted in 2 subjects & a vehicle being searched. This subsequently resulted in 1 subject being arrested #LifeorKnife "

The maximum penalty for an adult carrying a knife or weapon illegally is either four years in prison, an unlimited fine or both. You'll get a prison sentence if you're convicted of carrying a knife or weapon illegally more than once.
