Person airlifted to hospital from Ramsbottom after 'medical incident'

Helicopter crews had to airlift a patient to hospital after they were taken ill in Ramsbottom this afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Stubbins Lane, Ramsbottom, just before 1.45pm this afternoon, July 7, after someone at a nearby business became unwell.

Two air ambulances, a land ambulance, and two response vehicles rushed to the scene after being alerted.

A spokesperson for NWAA confirmed that the first of the two helicopter crews landed at around 2.20pm.

Professionals treated the patient at the scene, before airlifting them to hospital.

A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service (NWAS) said: "We have responded to a medical incident at a business address on Stubbins Lane.

"A patient has been airlifted to hospital.

"We received a 999 call at 13.44, with an ambulance, two response vehicles and two helimed crews attending the scene."

The patient's current condition is not yet known, but both NWAS and the North West Air Ambulance (NWAA) have been contacted for updates.
