Person airlifted to hospital after crash between car and motorbike on A479 in Breacon Beacons

A person has been flown to hospital after a crash in the Brecon Beacons.

Emergency services were called at 10.44am on Saturday to the incident on the A479 between Talgarth and Cwmdu.

According to Traffic Wales a motorbike and a car were involved in the incident though it is unconfirmed if the injured person was the biker or someone in the car.

The Welsh Ambulance Service has confirmed they were in attendance and a patient was airlifted by the Air Ambulance to Morriston Hospital in Swansea .

A spokeswoman for the service said: "We received a call at 10.44am to a road traffic collision on the A479. We responded with two ambulances and the helicopter. A patient has been airlifted to Morriston Hospital but we are unable to give out more details at this time."

The yellow area of road was the stretch closed by emergency services (Google Maps)

The road was closed in both directions for more than six hours affecting traffic travelling between Builth Wells and Abergavenny . It was reopened at approximately 5.20pm.
