Persimmon Homes to create 450 jobs in Bridgwater with new development

A new housing development in Bridgwater will create hundreds of jobs in the local area, the builder behind the scheme has said.

Persimmon Homes Severn Valley says its new 148- property Westminster Walk development on Kings Down will create 459 jobs.

The stats, which are based on figures from the House Builders Federation, show that 3.1 direct, indirect and induced jobs will be created for every house built.

Carly Spear, head of sales at Persimmon Homes Severn Valley, said: “We are delighted to have launched this significant development in Bridgwater.

“Westminster Walk will bring much-needed new properties to the market, allowing people the opportunity to settle in the town.

“Furthermore, the hundreds of new jobs will be a huge fillip to the area. We’re proud to be helping to drive the economy forward.”

Westminster Walk is close to the village of Horsey and the scheme includes a mixture of two- three- and four-bedroom homes.

Carly added: “From our past experience of building in Bridgwater, we are anticipating these properties to be in high demand."

The development is within walking distance of Willowdown Primary Academy, while secondary school Chilton Trinity is less than three miles away.
